Welcome!
Who we are,
Founded
in 2001 by Ty Lofstrom
who had already started
his custom
carburetor business
in year 2000.
Having served in
the military for a 11-year
stint with the Navy's
Special Forces driving and operating
some of the military's
fastest jetboats, Ty learned
and exercised many of
the same core values he instills
in his business today.
A
firm believer in continued
education, Ty spent
many of late nights at
the local junior colleges working
towards his mechanical
engineering degree as
well as donating his time to
the local volunteer fire
department while at the
same time laying the first
bricks to his performance
racing business.
In 2001, TPC Carburetors
moved out of the home
garage and into one
of Santee, California's
more recognized business
parks. Here is where
the engine and carburetor
business was able to
take flight and mature
into a recognized performance
racing industry shop.
Often over-booked with
clients 7-days a week,
Ty worked on and maintained
a fair share of South
California's jetboat
and muscle car market.
In year 2004 Ty made
a growth decision to
move his carburetor
and engine operation
to the Texas Hill Country
of Medina, Texas. Located
just 65 miles from San
Antonio.
In late 2005 TLI Racing
Engines, in their quest
to be on top, acquired
their very own Superflow Engine Dyno to
compliment their already
successful carburetor
research department
on flowbench technology.
Acquiring feedback from
his clients and noticing
a real need for
higher level testing,
which would serve
to be superior to his
existing Ford and Chevy
competitors. Recognized
as an industry expert
in Blowthrough carburetor
design, Ty stepped up
to the plate to offer
the end-user a standard
of research for an ever
growing market in forced
induction performance.
From single carb turbos
to dual prochargers the
market is rapidly growing
to the point that the
requirement for quality
and consistent research
is strong. With the growing
demand of today's alternative
fuels, a quality test
facility couldn't
be any closer to achieving
these goals than TLI's
dyno. |
